Sunglasses at the ready as the first instalment of the brand-new Pharrell x adidas NMD Hu pack is imminent, and boy is it bright! Featuring an almost headache-inducing yellow monochromatic look, this is not for the unassuming, but if you like to command attention wherever you go then these could be just the trainers you’re looking for!
The shoe is constructed with many of the design elements we’ve seen from the style in the past, including the usual hiking-inspired lacing system, lace cage and a Primeknit upper with a tonal stitching graphic which reads “Human Race” in Hindi that runs along the shoe’s centre. The only deviation from the all-yellow exterior is on the inside, with the designer opting to go with a contrasting black for added aesthetic appeal.
Underneath, the shoe benefits from adidas’ patented Boost technology on the midsole, while there are pockets of EVA foam dotted around the shoe’s exterior, although they’re more about adding some extra eye-candy rather than making the shoe more comfortable.
The shoe is just one of a slew of colourways set to arrive over the coming months, and it’ll arrive alongside the “Aqua” iteration which is also set to drop later on this week. As with the yellow rendition, the “Aqua” is also an outstanding number, although it’s a little less “in your face” than the yellow iteration – which is not at all difficult!
Retailing at around £170, the first iteration of the brand-new Pharrell x adidas NMD Hu will go on sale November 7 online and with select adidas stockists. Once they’ve gone they’ve gone, although you may be able to pick up a pair on the Laced.co.uk resale market.
