There’s many big names in basketball that manage to catch our attention, and LeBron James is certainly one of them. As he steps into the role of the G.O.A.T himself, Nike has had a field day celebrating the upcoming release of Space Jam: A New Legacy and shining the spotlight onto the aforementioned athlete. In fact, there’s a commemorative LeBron 8 iteration set to release very, very soon.
As first impressions go, it’s hard to deny that this colourway is a lot more simple than the designs that we’ve previously seen from the Nike brand. The vast majority of the sneakers are displayed in a black nubuck and patent construction that keeps the colourway on the down-low a lot more than we anticipated. Any use of brighten hues are kept to a minimum too as a gradient yellow-orange design is seen on the eyelets, decals and Swoosh outline. With this said, they’re subtle yet sweet and contrast quite nicely against the otherwise all-black overlay.
To give these sneakers a Space Jam vibe, Nike have chosen to sublimate the overlay with futuristic figures, silhouettes of those iconic Looney Tunes characters we all know and recognise and even the title of the upcoming film itself can be seen positioned proudly on the tongue. The soles of these kicks are where things get interesting as – to the surprise of us all – they glow in the dark!
Space Jam: A New Legacy is scheduled for release at the end of July so it’s expected that these kicks will be released at the same time. Available in mens sizing, the thrill surrounding the Nike LeBron 8 “Space Jam” is far from over so sneakerheads will need to be fast on the mouse clicker to stand any chance of coping a pair!
