This Wednesday sees the Reds finally crowned Premier League champions for the first time in nearly thirty years. The first ever, Premier League title they have ever won since the inception of the competition in 1991.

The lack of a Premier League trophy has always been a sore point for Liverpool fans and Klopp and his men have finally been able to banish years of hurt and ridicule by taking this season by storm, wrapping the league up in record time against a formidable opponent in Pep Guardiola.

Liverpool are set to lift their first ever trophy in a closed Anfield stadium after taking on Frank Lampard’s Chelsea on Wednesday night.

The blues played an integral part of the 13/14 Premier League campaign when Brendan Rogers, assembling a formidable front three of Luis Suarez, Daniel Sturrige and Raheem Sterling, came so close to clinching the title. It was in this game that Gerrard’s slip let Demba Ba through on goal and put their title run in jeopardy. A further draw to Crystal Palace would leave them trailing eventual winners Manchester City.

Redemption may be the word on a lot of Liverpool fan’s lips tonight as the blues will not only have to give the Reds a guard of honour, they will also have to watch as Henderson leads the team in lifting the Premier League trophy, bringing their total First Division domestic titles up to 19, the second highest of any team, just one behind current leaders Manchester United.

This day has been long in coming for millions of Liverpool fans, many of whom, born after 1991, will have never seen one of Europe’s most successful clubs lift a league trophy.

You can see all the title celebrations from tonight, with the game kicking off at 20:15.
