The killers announce 2020 tour

ByPhil Collins

Nov 25, 2019

Fans of the New Vegas band were given an early Christmas present as Brandon Flowers et al announce plans for a huge 2020 UK and Ireland tour to coincide with the release of their newest album ‘Imploding The Mirage’.

We haven’t had a new release from The Killers since their 2017 album, ‘Wonderful Wonderful’, which contained their chart hits “The Man” and “Run for Cover”.

The last we saw of The Killers, they were headlining the Pyramid stage at this year’s Glastonbury Music Festival, where they performed alongside Jonny Marr for a rendition of The Smith’s hit “This Charming Man” and “Mr Brightside”. They was also joined on stage by Pet Shop Boys artists Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe where they performed a cover of “You Were Always On My Mind”.

Their appearance at the Somerset festival surprised everyone after telling NME they would probably never play the festival again after their 2007 headline performance. Since then fans have been eagerly awaiting a new release.

The new album release and tour dates come 16 years since they rocked up onto the scene with their hit debut album ‘Hot Fuzz’ in 2004. Since then they have gone on to release hit albums such as ‘Sam’s Town’, ‘Day & Age’ and ‘Battle Born’.
