Taylor Swift is dominating the music industry right now and the world so to speak. She isn’t just sending her Eras Tour tickets and merchandise flying off the records, she is also drastically boosting apparel sales of the NFL team, Kansas City Chiefs.
On Sunday 24th September, Swift attended a Chiefs game to show support for the team but more specifically, Travis Kelce. The princess of pop and the NFL star were spotted leaving the game together and driving to a private dinner reservation together.
Taylor was spotted in a private lounge with Travis’ mother during the game and were seen getting along “swiftly” … see what we did there?
During the game, Swifties went wild and instantly took a liking to the rumoured couple. Fans of both the singer and American football player took to social media to share the news as soon as pictures were taken. As a result, a buying frenzy broke out as fans sent sales of Kelce’s jersey through the roof increasing sales by a record-breaking 400%!
Although Swift is currently doing a full world tour, she resumes The Eras Tour in Buenos Aires in November. The Taylor Swift effect is real, even the official NFL social media pages had changed their bios to NFL (Taylor’s Version) which pays homage to her new projects ‘Taylor’s Version’ where she is re-recording her old music in order to take back ownership of her original albums.
This new duo began back in summer when Swift was performing her US Leg of The Eras Tour and when she got to her Kansas City shows, Kelce attended with a gift for Taylor. If you are unfamiliar with The Eras Tour ettiquite, then all you have to know is that friendship bracelets are a MUST. Travis decided to play smart and instead of song lyrics on the bracelets, he made one with his phone number on in the hopes of giving it to Taylor.
