Is the D. Rose Set to be the Most “Out There” Yeezy Design to Date?

A few weeks ago, Kanye West went on a Twitter barrage where he posted a series of images that included everything from the time he spent in China to some of his most interesting upcoming Yeezy releases.

Among the images and the one that caught everyone’s attention was our introduction to the eye-catching Yeezy “D. Rose”. Posted with a caption that read “coming soon”, the image raised one or two eye-brows due to its unconventional, futuristic design.

The shoe’s all-in-one, sock-like style is a far cry from most of the releases currently hitting the market, although this new look put you in mind of some previous Yeezy releases, namely the Foam RNNR.

Never one to shy away from breaking the mould, Kanye is certainly no stranger to unleashing never-before-seen styles on the sneaker world. Over the years there have been some jaw-dropping Yeezy releases, but does this one trump them all for his most “out there” design yet?

As far as wacky designs go, the D. Rose is certainly in good company. Since starting his Yeezy project back in 2013, Kanye has released a bunch of off-the-wall sneakers that are by no means designed to appeal to the masses.

One that immediately springs to mind is the aforementioned Yeezy Foam RNNR Ararat, a hole-punched moulded slip-on constructed from an algae-based foam that looks like it belongs on the set of a futuristic sci-fi movie! Then there was the “Slide Bone”, another Yeezy design that you wouldn’t exactly describe as “suitable for all occasions”.

As Kanye himself once said, the purpose of these designs is innovation – as well as a little shock value – and the upcoming “D. Rose” may have stumped all of its weird and wonderful predecessors to become Ye’s most head-turning production to date.

No release date has yet been confirmed for the “D. Rose” but expect to see this space-age design in the not-too-distant future. For more updates on new trainers or for buy and sell options on the resale market head over to Laced.co.uk
