Latest Trophy Room x Air Jordan Collab Ready to Drop

ByPhil Collins

Feb 26, 2021

For those who do not know, Trophy Room is a Florida-based sneaker boutique headed by Marcus Jordan, the son of none other than his Airiness himself, Michael Jordan. As you can imagine, Marcus has been blessed with some great contacts in the industry, which has seen his Trophy Room imprint collaborate with Jordan Brand on several projects in the past. This year we will be treated to another, and this time around it comes in the form of the Air Jordan 1 High Retro OG, which gets another shiny new update. Inspired by the 1985 All-Star game in Indiana, this latest Air Jordan 1 Retro is teeming with nostalgia-inducing details that bring memories of the early days of the AJ1 flooding back for anyone old enough to remember them. With an aged yellowish midsole and the traditional tongue tag, coupled with the shoe’s original cuts, this 2021 update could have arrived via a time portal sent from the mid-80s! The colour scheme is reminiscent of the iconic “Chicago”, although on this latest update the red arrives in a sprayed-on effect, while the laces forgo the usual black for a navy blue look instead. On the heel, in place of the usual winged Air Jordan branding is the signature of MJ, and down below the outsole is a grey hue, rather than the red you’d expect to find. These subtle distinctions make for a refreshing change and a memorable update to the collection. The latest collab between Jordan Brand and Trophy Room, dubbed the “Freeze Out” is available via raffle on 10th February. If you’re unsuccessful then be sure to check out the Laced.co.uk resale market as they’re sure to have some in stock once they’re sold out. They stock all the biggest and best Air Jordans so if you’re mad about these iconic sneakers then Laced is the place for you!
