Lillard Teams-Up with Another WWE Great on the Dame 7

Pro basketball player Damian Lillard has never shied away from producing colourways that pay tribute to some of his favourite hobbies and interests, and the upcoming adidas Dame 7 is set to follow that trend once again.

His fondness for pro-wrestling became apparent with his last release – the Dame 6 which paid homage to WWE legend Stone Cold Steve Austin – and this time around he’s decided to stick with the same theme by introducing a couple of colourways that reference another of his most treasured wrestling stars, this time Hall of Famer Rick Flair.

First up is a blue colourway that’s dressed to resemble the lavish robes worn by the Nature Boy himself. This makeup comes adorned in a royal blue hue that’s guaranteed to catch the eye, much like the costumes worn by Flair during the 80s and 90s. The uppers are made from a crocodile-print leather, while the midsole is constructed from a PVC foam which guarantees a snug and comfortable fit.

Elsewhere, this brand-new silhouette has silver accents along the tongue which also show off the Point Guard’s signature logo, and sticking with the Rick Flair theme the wrestler’s “Woooooo!” catchphrase is etched onto the heel.

The second style in this collection sees pretty much the same design features and branding, but with a white and gold colour scheme that again harkens back to Flair’s days in the squared circle by taking off another of his most infamous outfits.

In the past, Lillard has expressed his admiration for Flair, saying the 16-time WWE champion is one of his favourite wrestlers of all-time. Now, thanks to his growing collection, he finally gets to show his appreciation with a pair of funky colourways on this brand-new silhouette.

The style will be released on September 30th on adidas.com and with select retailers. For other exclusive new trainers, head over to the incredible resale market at Laced.co.uk and check out browse some of the most sought-after styles around.
