In news that will cause delight for some and dismay for others, the Yeezy Slide “Bone” is set for a restock later this week.

When Kanye dropped the first iteration of his Slide silhouette last year, it’s safe to say this design divided opinion among the sneaker community. After images circulated on social media, the Yeezy Slides were met with a barrage of criticism, with some sneakerheads labelling them “cheap-looking” and “bizarre”.

But despite the initial backlash, the Yeezy Slide “Bone” has since gone on to become a highly sought-after design, with some pairs fetching up to 6 times the original recommended retail price on the secondary market. Such is the demand for these once-ridiculed sliders, that StockX currently have the ‘price premium’ at 352% above the original RRP, which shows how surprisingly popular this look has been.

But despite receiving some heavy flack, perhaps the design’s popularity shouldn’t come as much of a surprise at all. It’s this very two-fingers-to-the-status-quo approach from Ye that fans of his footwear have come to love. While those who like to play it safe will no doubt be put off by the zany, unconventional look, for fans of the more “off-the-wall” Yeezys this quirkiness is half of the appeal.

By opting for just a single adidas logo that’s debossed into the heel of the sandal, the Yeezy Slide “Bone” uses an ultra-minimal aesthetic that features very little branding, allowing the shoe’s unique design to speak for itself.

Fans of the silhouette were already treated to some great news recently when it was announced the Yeezy Slide would get a fresh look in two brand new colourways, “Core” and “Soot”. With news that the “Bone” will also receive a restock, it’s been a great week for the Yeezy Slide Appreciation Society.

The Yeezy Slide “Bone” will restock exclusively on the Yeezy Supply and adidas Yeezy webstore on September 4th. The “Core” and “Soot” will also land on the same day and each colourway will be priced at around £45.
